Client: Care Internatinal

The primary purpose of the assessment was to explore and identify economic opportunities available for youth in the Sanaag region, specifically within both the formal and informal labor markets. The central question guiding this effort was: What economic opportunities can youth in the Sanaag region engage in to improve their livelihoods and contribute to the local economy? To carry out this critical assessment, Care International partnered with IRADA and commissioned them to lead the Horseed Bulsho II Labour Market Assessment. This initiative was undertaken in close collaboration with key stakeholders, including government ministries, youth organizations, and the private sector, to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive approach. The assessment focused on several key districts within the Sanaag region, including Badhan, Buran, Xiingalool, Balibusle, and Dhahar. By concentrating on these areas, the study aimed to capture the diverse economic landscapes and potential opportunities available across the region. The findings of this assessment were intended to provide actionable insights to inform strategies that would empower youth and foster economic development in the Sanaag region.
