With UNICEF collaboration, IRADA conducted a nationally representative survey designed to provide reliable and detailed information on the well-being of children, women, and households. The survey covered 5,969 households, interviewed 6,764 women aged 15–49, and included 6,305 mothers and caretakers of children under five years old. Its primary purpose was to equip policymakers and planners with accurate data to address critical development areas such as child mortality, nutrition, child health, child protection, water and sanitation, education, reproductive health, knowledge of HIV/AIDS, and fertility. By collecting this data, MICS3 aimed to track progress toward global development goals, highlight disparities, and guide evidence-based interventions. This comprehensive survey was successfully completed by IRADA, while we also extended our support to other regions, including Puntland and southern Somalia.
